Meet the Team

Karen began her career as a volunteer in aged care in 2004. She likened her first day to a ​feeling of coming home and knew she had chosen the right career path. Quickly she became a ​paid employee and worked as a lifestyle coordinator and carer. She even did some time in the ​kitchens. After gaining so much valuable experience Karen moved over to Disabilities, working ​locally as a support worker, here she established the start of many connections that she still ​supports today.

Karen then had the opportunity to start the climb up the ladder, working and learning as she ​went, finishing as Manager of both Disabilities and Mental Health.

When the NDIS was quickly approaching Karen set out to learn as much as she could so she ​could better understand, explain and support her participants and families. The NDIS was truly ​something she believed in and still does to this day.

Karen established New Beginnings 5 and ½ years ago and has proudly expanded this over the ​time while remaining as hands on as she possibly can. Karen is known to be missing at times ​and can be found hanging out at one of the day centres with the participants covered in paint.

Karen looks forward to new adventures with N.B.S.S and being able to assist in the future with ​any needs or requests that arise

 Calynda began her career as a trainee admin in the sector in 2012. She then had opportunities ​to learn new roles in administration and during the roll out of the NDIS Calynda had the chance ​to be apart of the team with her organisation to roll out the internal processes and learn about ​the NDIS from the start. With this knowledge Calynda went on to progress through ​organisations into management roles and then joining New Beginnings full time in 2022
