Meet the Team

Karen began her career as a volunteer in aged care in 2004. She likened her first day to a ​feeling of coming home and knew she had chosen the right career path. Quickly she became a ​paid employee and worked as a lifestyle coordinator and carer. She even did some time in the ​kitchens. After gaining so much valuable experience Karen moved over to Disabilities, working ​locally as a support worker, here she established the start of many connections that she still ​supports today.

Karen then had the opportunity to start the climb up the ladder, working and learning as she ​went, finishing as Manager of both Disabilities and Mental Health.

When the NDIS was quickly approaching Karen set out to learn as much as she could so she ​could better understand, explain and support her participants and families. The NDIS was truly ​something she believed in and still does to this day.

Karen looks forward to new adventures with N.B.S.S and being able to assist in the future with ​any needs or requests that arise

 Calynda is one of the Directors of New Beginnings, committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care. With over a decade of experience in the industry since starting in 2012, she brings a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and leadership to the role.

Throughout her career, Calynda has remained focused on empowering individuals with disabilities to lead fulfilling, independent lives. She is known for building genuine relationships with clients, families, and staff, and fostering a supportive, inclusive team culture.
